The Invested In Series: Women Shaping the Future – Inter-Generational Conversations

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania , Imara Leadership Initiative team is proud to have taken part in The Invested In Series: Women Shaping the Future – Inter-Generational Conversations, a landmark event designed to foster dialogue, mentorship, and leadership opportunities for women across generations and industries, held at the Hyatt Regency in Dar es Salaam, this exclusive gathering brought together 100 dynamic women leaders, changemakers, and emerging professionals to share insights, exchange experiences, and inspire one another toward building a more inclusive and empowered future.

More than an event, Women Shaping the Future served as a platform for reflection, collaboration, and collective growth—bridging generational perspectives and strengthening leadership networks across sectors. Through a series of panels, mentorship dialogues, and thought-provoking discussions, participants explored how women can leverage their strengths, break barriers, and lead with purpose.

Event Highlights

The day began with a powerful Spoken Word performance by Hope Hellen, setting an inspiring tone that echoed throughout the event. This was followed by opening remarks from Dr. Doris Rwebangira and a welcome note from Tanya Mulamula, both Managing Partners at Studio Red Communications, who underscored the importance of creating spaces that amplify women’s voices and leadership journeys.

To set the stage with a compelling narrative on resilience, innovation, and the vital role of women in public service. Drawing from her personal journey, she challenged attendees to reimagine leadership through courage and collaboration.

A distinguished panel featuring Hon. Ambassador Liberata Mulamula (MP) and Jokate Mwegelo explored leadership in public office—shedding light on overcoming challenges, navigating governance, and inspiring the next generation of female leaders. The session, moderated by Austin Makani, emphasized resilience, mentorship, and the transformative power of women in decision-making spaces.

Celebrating Success: Women Leading Change in Tanzania and Beyond
This dynamic discussion delved into the intersection of diplomacy, business, and empowerment, panelists including H.E. Anne Sophie Avé (Ambassador of France to Tanzania), Amb. Mindi Kasiga, Prudence Masako, and Jennifer Bash—shared personal stories and actionable insights on leadership, economic inclusion, and intergenerational mentorship. Moderated by Austin Makani, the session highlighted the importance of collaboration in advancing gender equality and sustainable development.

Financial Wellness: Securing Your Future

Moderated by Dr. Doris Rwebangira, this session featured Mnyindo Tairo-Mngola, Managing Director of Le’risque Africa, who discussed the importance of financial literacy and proactive planning, attendees were encouraged to take ownership of their financial well-being equipping themselves with the tools to navigate uncertainty and build long-term security.
