1st Cohort 2025: Call for Applications
Background
Towards World Malaria Day 2025 an international observance commemorated every year on 25 April and recognizes global , continental and national efforts to control , prevent and end malaria . In this backdrop Imara Leadership Initiative (ILI) under the My Health , My Value project works to enhance health challenges in societies and communities in Africa through in country partners to end malaria, neglected tropical diseases and promote reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health at continental, regional, national, sub-national and community levels.
The Malaria Young Leaders Africa Accelerator Programme
The Malaria Young Leaders Africa Accelerator Programme is a 3 month program designed to strengthen the leadership and management skills of young leaders working to end malaria in a hybrid program visit (www.imaraleadershipinitiative.org for more information).
What is the Value- added Opportunity ?
- Access to mentorship from global health leaders in international institutions, UN agencies, WHO, Ministries of Health , Continental and Regional blocks working in the field of health with a close focus on malaria.
- Access to E-Learning and in-person opportunities from ILI and its partner institutions.
- Access to Executive Coaching and matching opportunities for career growth.
- Attend malaria leadership trainings/ workshops and conferences when available.
- Take part in Global , Continental , Regional and National Malaria Advocacy Campaigns activities e.g Zero Malaria Starts With Me etc.
Submission Criteria
- Be an African citizen or an African in the diaspora from the age of 15 to 35 years old.
- Submit a full application form available online.
- All submissions to be sent online via an online form by 28 February 2025 by 23:30HRS EAT.
Selection Timelines: The Imara Leadership Initiative (ILI) team will set up a team of reviewers who shall review the submissions AFTER the deadline date:
- 01 February 2025 – Call for Applications Opens
- 28 February 2025 – Deadline for Applications – 23:59HRS EAT
- 01 -30 March 2025 – Applications Reviews and Sorting by Reading Committee
- 10 April 2025 – Selected Applicants notified via E-mails
- 25 April 2025 – Official Announcement of Selected Applicants on World Malaria Day 2025
