Imara Leadership Initiative (ILI) Tanzania As part of the Women and Youth in Democracy (WYDE) Civic Engagement, initiative supported by the Kofi Annan Foundation, European Partnership for Democracy (EPD), Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD), the Oslo Center in the European Union funded project , Imara Leadership Initiative is conducting a Imara Youth Democracy Talks Webinars to drive conversations among young people who are affected by mis and dis-information during electoral processes including myths on registering to vote and voting.
In this regard we are hosting a virtual session themed “Youth leaders’ actors to end mis and dis-information in Elections,” which will be held on July 18, 2024, from 15:00-16:00pm EAT. This webinar will bring together young leaders and experts’ policymakers, academics, and development professionals to share their expertise and collaborate on innovative advocacy on democracy across The United Republic of Tanzania.

Yolokazi Mfuto development practitioner and a political analyst who is passionate about the struggle against socio-economic, political and health challenges that affect young people. She holds a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Communication, History and Political Sciences, an honours degree in Political Sciences and International Relations both from the University of Fort Hare. She also has a certificate in Project Management and currently pursuing Master in Multidisciplinary Human Rights at the University of Pretoria.
Yolokazi has published papers with national newspapers on Politics, governance, and development, provides political commentary and serve in youth focused boards across the continent.

Ms. Nyangubu is also committee to equip young girls and women with the tools to contest for various leadership roles across Tanzania. Through serving Zanzibar Fighting Against Youth Challenges Organization (ZAFAYCO)
Abdalla has been recognized as one among the 2023 top 100 Changemakers in Tanzania, as a governance expert working in the areas of democratic governance, peace and the rule of law in Zanzibar.
Abeid has has designed and implemented more than 17 mega projects in the area of civic engagement by promoting human rights, peace and enhancing democracy in Zanzibar especially ensuring youth participation in decision making bodies. He is currently managing 3 projects including a project on strengthening justice in Zanzibar supported by the Wellspring Philanthropic Fund, a project titled “Wajibu wako, haki yetu” funded by the ForumCiv and the desk of human rights and human rights documentation implemented under the partnership of ZAFAYCO and the Legal and Human Rights Center Tanzania.
