Imara Leadership Initiative (ILI) Tanzania As part of the Women and Youth in Democracy (WYDE) Civic Engagement, initiative supported by the Kofi Annan Foundation, European Partnership for Democracy (EPD), Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD), the Oslo Center in the European Union funded project , Imara Leadership Initiative is conducting a Imara Women Democracy Talks Webinars to drive conversations among women and men to address hate speech in the political processes in Tanzania. In this regard we are hosting a virtual session themed “Women and men’s role to address hate speech in political processes in Tanzania,” which will be held on August 01, 2024, from 15:00-16:00pm EAT. This webinar will bring together women and men leaders and experts’ policymakers, academics, and development professionals to share their expertise and collaborate on gender responsive advocacy targeted to women political leaders across The United Republic of Tanzania.

Rahma Mwita , Executive Director – Open Youth Opportunities (OYO) Tanzania and works on empowering young people on civic education , capacity building on good governance and also is a political analyst by professional, she previously received training on Youth Influencers advocates to end Hate Speech under the United Nations Human Rights Office of the High Commissioner in Tanzania, she has a media background working as a journalist in a leading media station in Tanzania Clouds Media Group and recognized as an SDG’s Ambassador in Tanzania.

Dr. Victoria Melkisedeck Lihiru she is an Academician and Resercher , working on areas of Good Governance , Human Rights bringing with her a wealth of experience on gender and social inclusion in Tanzania and beyond, She previously served as a Governance Manager for the Institutions for Inclusive Development Project (I3ID), which is run by The Palladium Group. She holds a Doctorate and Master’s Degree of Law in Human Rights, Constitutional Law, and Regional Integration, and has worked with several prominent organizations on disability and gender-focused projects, including UN Women, UNDP, Action for Disability and Development (ADD International), and the Tanzania Women Cross-Party Platform

Petrider Paul , Member WYDE Accountability Hubs 2023-2024, she serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Imara Leadership Initiative and a WYDE Accountability Hub Member a programme for young leaders receiving professional development training to design and deliver their own accountability work.
Petrider previously served as a United Nations Human Rights Office of the High Commissioner ( OHCHR ) HQ Geneva, Youth Advisory Board Member on Human Rights of Youth, working with and for youth in vulnerable situations including conflict, violence and insecurity a partnership with Education Above All and Silatech.
Petrider served AU COVID-19 Vaccination East Africa Bingwa part of the Africa CDC’s wide Programme of Saving Lives and Livelihoods. The initiative seeks to establish a network of COVID-19 vaccination youth champions across the continent to accelerate the uptake of COVID-19 vaccination in Africa, and a former African Union Youth Advisory Council in an appointed role y H.E Moussa Faki Mahamat Chairperson of the African Union Commission.
