This course provides a comprehensive training on youth involvement in peacebuilding by equipping participants with the knowledge, skills and practical tools to engage youth as agents of peace and sustainable development in Africa, learners will gain a deeper understanding of their role in peace and security initiatives and develop the capacity to contribute effectively to peacebuilding efforts in Africa.
About this session
The YPSA course seeks to empower youth as peacebuilders, foster inclusive governance, and promote the implementation of the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agenda in African contexts, the course also responds to a growing demand for context-specific, online learning opportunities that connect youth across countries and sectors.
By the end of the course, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of the Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS) agenda at Africa levels, and be able to analyze the factors driving conflict and insecurity among African youth, apply youth-led peacebuilding and conflict prevention strategies, and design inclusive policies and programs that foster peace and resilience.

This Masterclass session is designed for:
- A young person interested in or actively involved in peacebuilding and conflict resolution initiatives,
- A professional, policymaker, or community leader, working with or aiming to work with youth in peace and security contexts,
- A representative of a civil society organization, or an international organization focusing on youth empowerment and peacebuilding programs,
- An educator, trainer, or researcher in the fields of peace studies, conflict resolution, or youth empowerment,
- A donor, funder, or decision-maker interested in understanding and supporting youth-focused peace initiatives.
Delivery mode
Online session which includes four guided presentation modules, as well as knowledge tests, a debate forum, and a certification *upon completion. The tutors will provide you with individual feedback on you. We believe that this combination of interactive activities, and individual coaching will help you to gain practical competencies to effectively lead.
