Imara Leadership Initiative (ILI) Tanzania aims to recruit and establish a youth na demokrasia champions network across the United Republic of Tanzania as part of the WYDE Civic Engagement Initiative to bringing together young leaders from the United Republic of Tanzania in online and offline sessions who are working on creative and innovative solutions to bring more accountability to democratic governance.
We are looking to establish the 1st cohort of ‘Youth na Demokrasia Champions‘ to help champion for democracy accountability in i) Sharing innovative models to curb the threat that mis- and disinformation poses to young people during electoral processes where young people are at target , ii) Champion to stop negative myths on registering to vote and low turnout of youth voters being attributed by low trust in the credibility of the voting system.

The Youth na Demokrasia Champions Commitments
As a Youth na Demokrasia Champion from Tanzania you commit to the following activities:
- Be an active member of a youth led organization working on good governance , or be a member of an institution that promotes democracy in the country or be part of a studen’ts organization , community group , (possess skills in leadership on democracy rights as a community worker , online influencer or creative enthusiast).
- Participate in the ‘The Youth na Demokrasia Champions Program’ online meetings once every quarter and in-person meetings / conferences when available.
- Help to raise educational awareness about the lack of information about democratic processes and ways of becoming active citizens in Tanzania.
- Take part in democracy related forums, trainings, outreach activities and campaign opportunities online and offline.
- Be an active ‘Youth na Demokrasia Champion’ in Tanzania.
