Arusha, Tanzania , The Executive Director of Imara Leadership Initiative (ILI) Ms.Petrider Paul extends her heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Ntuli Angyelile Kapologwe on his appointment as the new Director General of the East, Central, and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA-HC). His appointment was officially announced by the Chair of the Health Ministers’ Conference (HMC) during the 74th HMC gathering, marking a historic moment for regional health leadership.

Dr. Kapologwe is a respected leader in health systems, public health, and policy innovation. His academic and professional journey demonstrates a deep commitment to improving health outcomes and advancing evidence-based reforms. Key highlights of his career include:
- PhD in Public Health, with groundbreaking research on Direct Health Facility Financing (DHFF) and its impact on maternal and child health services.
- Director of Health, Social Welfare & Nutrition Services at PORALG (2017–2024), where he spearheaded transformative reforms in service delivery.
- Regional Medical Officer and District Medical Officer, leading on-the-ground strategies to strengthen health systems at both local and national levels.
- Over 70 peer-reviewed publications in areas of health financing, public health, and service delivery improvement.
As Director General of ECSA-HC, Dr. Kapologwe is poised to lead the organization into a new era of collaboration and progress. His leadership will be pivotal in driving the 10-Year Strategic Plan (2024–2034), with a strong focus on:
- Advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC) for all member states.
